Component-based Framework for Interoperable Web Access

Our framework allows us to access and to combine various data resources through the direct manipulation of 3D visual components without programming. Our approach provides a 3D proxy component for accessing various Web resources using only a URI. Users only have to use the 3D proxy component for REST-style Web services to access both REST-style and SOAP-style Web services , and also local databases. Composition for 3D proxy components allows users to define relational algebras for data-sets from various Web resources, and to define Web resource compositions. Our framework also enables users to publish such connected Web resources as a new Web service. Moreover, we extend Virtual Reification Framework to represent a large set of records obtained from Web resources with fully interactive and reusable objects. It provides a visualization scheme as a customizable structure of a set of interactive components. Each record is provided as visual interactive objects which can be directly manipulated. It allows us to connect retrieved records to other 3D proxy components just through direct manipulation to get relevant information, and to connect them different application tools or environments.
